Go-Live Date: December 17, 2025
Following Phase One in November, where tests previously referred to ARUP and some Mayo Clinic Lab tests were transitioned to Quest Diagnostics, we are now moving into Phase Two of this important change. Corewell Health Laboratory is continuing its transition to Quest Diagnostics as our primary reference testing partner.
What’s Changing in Phase Two
- Tests currently referred to Mayo Clinic Laboratories will now transition to Quest Diagnostics.
- Effective Date: December 17, 2025
- Impact: Many referral and send-out tests will now be performed by Quest Diagnostics. A small number of tests will continue to be sent to other laboratories to meet patient and clinician needs.
Key Details
- Test Crosswalks: Mayo Clinic Labs tests will be matched to comparable Quest Diagnostics tests.
- Discontinued Tests: Tests with low utilization or those no longer deemed clinically necessary will be discontinued.
- New LAB Numbers: All converted tests will receive new LAB numbers. Please make sure your preference lists are updated. If your EMR is interfaced, these must be updated in your compendium.
- Collection Devices: Some tests may require different collection devices. Please review updated instructions.
- Test Directory Updates: Each region’s Lab Test Directory/Catalog will be updated at go-live. Crosswalks will include links to Quest Diagnostics test offerings for reference.

We appreciate your partnership during this transition and will continue to provide updates and resources to support your practice.
