Effective September 26, 2023, at 9:00 AM, Corewell Health West Laboratories will go live with a new lot of aPTT reagents. The aPTT reference ranges will be adjusted to reflect this reagent lot change. The following will be the new normal reference ranges for aPTT testing:

24 – 34 seconds (CS series analyzers including Corewell Health Reference Lab, Grand Rapids; Corewell Health West Regional Hospital Labs at Blodgett, Big Rapids, Gerber, Kelsey, Ludington, Pennock, Reed City, United and Zeeland)
23 – 28 seconds (Corewell Health Reference Lab, Grand Rapids, BCS series analyzers)
aPTT DTI [LAB1230880]
23 – 28 seconds (Corewell Health Reference Lab, Grand Rapids, BCS XP analyzer)
Mixing Studies, aPTT[LAB326], aPTT Heparin Neutralization [LAB3377]
24-34 seconds (Corewell Health Reference Lab, Grand Rapids, CS 5100 Analyzer)
23-28 seconds (Corewell Health Reference Lab, Grand Rapids, BCS XP analyzer)
There will be no changes to the unfractionated heparin therapeutic ranges which are associated with the aPTT testing on the CS series analyzers, or the CRRT Circuit aPTT.
